Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Sekine ("the app"), published by Hugo Software.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
2. Price
The app is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no paid tiers and no advertising. No feature is locked behind payment.
3. No account
The app has no sign-up and no user account. You are not required to give us any information in order to use it.
4. Your content stays on your device
Notes, check-ins and session records you create are stored only on your device. We do not receive them, and therefore we cannot restore them for you. If you uninstall the app, reset the app data, or lose or replace your device, that content is gone permanently. Keep your own record of anything you would not want to lose.
5. Religious content
The app displays classical remembrance phrases in Arabic script with Latin transliteration and an English rendering of their meaning. Translations of religious text are interpretations and are provided for personal reference only. The app is a counting and journalling aid; it is not a religious authority and does not issue rulings. For religious guidance, consult a qualified scholar.
6. Not medical or psychological advice
Sekine lets you record how you feel and shows you simple summaries of your own entries. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Nothing in the app is a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care. If you are in distress or crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
7. Third-party audio
The app bundles percussion samples released under the CC0 1.0 public-domain dedication (FreePats world percussion). All other sound is generated on your device.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, resell or create derivative works from the app, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
9. Warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data stored on your device. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. You may have statutory consumer rights that these terms do not affect.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. The current version is always published on this page with the date above.
